I didn't use 4500 white bb's - I used a lot less light brown ones and I had no issues with using my rifle.

I can change a mag on my Garand quiet quickly. its all about practise.

I can do it in about the same time it takes to change a thompson mag for example. I've done very little modification to the mags, just chopped the lip off around the BB feed hole.

I suffered big time early on, on saturday with the wind. But once we dropped down deeper into the valley it really came into its own!

Sniper hunting was fun. Took out the last 4 remaining snipers in 4 shots. Apologies for shooting one in the gentlemens area.

That's probably why, then... They won't be perfectly seated in and could fall out.

Do you not have to do that? That's how they came from warren (I think at least - without the 'sticky up bit' where the bbs feed into the gun)

Yeah, warren doesn't do a complete conversion as far as I can see. The one lipton showed me had an notch cut in it as well...

no...
they won't feed whatever you do.

It's all about how well the mag is held in place.

My mags are held in tight. I might have to apply a bit of pressure on occasions to improve the feed but, im not worried about that. To me it helps with realism, acts like a Jam or a misfire.

I load 12 rounds into the mag i loose 4 on average. Leaves me with the perfect garand amount of 8 rounds.

lol...

The way warren does them should be okay. I just reckon they're not fully held in the mag well.

Mine are done the same way as the guy in the states and they don't shift at all until you press the mag catch.

All this talk of US weapons, how come no one has come up with a decent airsoft M3A1 Grease gun yet (Hudson's GBB effort excused)? These seem to be ignored in Airsoft yet were pretty common with US troops in WW2 (I'd hazard a guess more common than Thompsons?) through Korea to Vietnam era (and later under license in South American countries) so I'm suprised an AEG version hasn't appeared? :slap:

Sorry for wandering off track from the off track nonsense!

Pink BBs above 3s would really make my day and I could use them in my socom as well as my G33 :)

I believe someone has made a couple of M3A1 AEGs, trouble is you've got to start off with a GBB Hudson take everything out of it and mount an AEG in it...expensive!

They came in to use after Normandy because financially they were more viable than the Tommy, quicker to produce and involved no wooden parts. I believe also that they were pressed rather than tooled which reduced costs...

Ergonomically though they're uncomfortable to use, ugly, with a short range and bloody heavy magazines but hey that's just the gas version.
Admittedly used for a lot longer however they also used the Tommy through Korea and at the start of the Vietnam conflict so...take your pick!

They were used put into service in the early months of '43, waaaay before D-day

They were designed around the 'success' of the sten gun (from a cost and weight point of view), they were constructed from pressed and welded metal.

US Troops didn't have them on D Day did they though?
